ROC Drop – Renewable Obligation Payments reducing
The RO is the main support mechanism for renewable electricity projects in the UK. It helps in many ways to make renewable energy a reality in this cross over period between fossil and renewable. Renewable Obligation payments make up a large percentage of what the owner of a Solar park receives in payment for the electricity produced. RO payments are based on the date the Solar park first starts producing power, this helps to set the initial RO rate.
The Government are phasing down RO payments as the next reduction is April 2015. You have to act NOW, as rental rates for locations connected after this date will drop. The drop may also make your particular location unviable completely.
Although April 2015 is some months away, remember the Solar park must be producing power by then. Evaluation, planning, building and commissioning must all take place before that. So, act now to secure your higher income rate. Contact us now, or complete the Solar park evaluation form below. Please do not delay.
